Yesterday Mr. Hippo and I ditched are cars and walked home. It is a funny story, let me paint the picture for you.
Work closed at 1:30pm, and I chose to leave and start my journey to the great northland. Oh by the way, I was out of gas. It took me 45 minutes to make it to the closest gas station and BAZINGA, they were out of gas. I made it to one on Peachtree during hour 2. I made it to 400 North and managed to average 7 mile-per-hour. Mr. Hippo and I were talking throughout this.
He had to drop a co-worker off at Marta and was stuck on the East side of 400, less than 2 miles from home. Let's just say I made it to the exit where he was in 45 minutes and he hadn't moved:)
I exited away from my house to simply park the car and walk home. Low and behold, I see Mr. Hippo walking up the hill like a wondering nomad! I picked him up and we parked the car, loaded up and walked home.
So right after this picture we were walking in the powder up on the terrain and BAM my right foot falls into a black hole of death. I fell in to my knee and plunged forward. I am fine, of course, but laughing hysterically. I tend to be clumsy so this wasn't unusual. Whats really funny is that 2 seconds later Phil hits a different hole and is in to his hip. He looked legless for a brief moment. The rest of the walk on that side was a trecherous climb down the hill trying to avoid the landmines and holes.
We made it home (we live right at the bottom of the hill) and bunkered in for the night. Thankfully we have power, heat, gas cable and internet, the necessities of life:)
More to come hippos,
XOXO
